The surface of the concrete may have a rough appearance with small bumps and grooves on the surface. Concrete finishing is what you need to make the freshly laid concrete completely smooth and level.
What is Concrete Finishing?
Concrete finishing is a process applied to give newly laid concrete a flat and smooth surface as possible. It is achieved by applying a trowel that cuts exactly over the concrete surface to obtain a smooth surface.
It is an electric or gasoline powered machine that resembles a remote-controlled mower.
Why is Concrete Finishing Used?
Usage areas; industrial floors, factories or large industrial establishments, airports, parking lots, mass housing, etc. used in many fields.

The use of surface hardener is mandatory. If a quality and solid floor is to be obtained, a surface hardener is indispensable. The floor must be thoroughly cleaned before applying the surface hardener. Otherwise, the surface hardener cannot be considered effective. Then the concrete must be moist. The process does not take place until the concrete absorbs its water. After the concrete absorbs the water, it is integrated with the surface hardening concrete by means of a helicopter with circular pressures on the ground. The process is terminated when the brightness of the concrete increases.
How to Use Concrete Polishing Machine?
The trowel is designed for use in large and comfortable areas. The most important reason for using this machine on screed floors is to obtain a smooth, gap-free and more solid floor. Since hardeners are preferred according to the condition of the surface on which the machine will be used, this process can be safely applied on many floors.
Before starting to use the machine, it should be ensured that the concrete reaches the desired hardness. In this way, no cement residue will stick to the blades of the machine, and the blades will not face the risk of deterioration. If the blades are contaminated with cement, the blades may deteriorate and the ground will not have a flat appearance.
The polishing process consists of two stages. Special blades are used for each different stage of polishing and finishing.
During the lapping stage, the machine is equipped with lapping blades and the blades are set at a straight angle to create a vacuum effect on the concrete surface. The machine then moves up and down the surface leaving a series of circular tracks on the floor. If the machine is used by walking behind it, the operator must walk backwards to eliminate footprints.
Before the finishing process, wait until the concrete dries, and even until there are no footprints when walking.
Finishing blades are fitted to the trowel. The final action is to pass the blades through the floor several times at an increasing angle. The larger the blade angle, the harder the coating. Finishing continues until the required smoothness and hardness is achieved. The concrete floor is now allowed to cure, which usually takes about 28 days.
